What is your One Bag, and how large is it?

The One Bag Traveler recommends Gear, Destinations and Adventures. Last year, I took a ten-day trip to Brazil with one bag (an old, discontinued bag from Outdoor products, from the era before they were bought out), weighing 10.5 lbs. The bag was a total steal as it was a thrift-store find for only $3 (USD).

Last year, I took a ten-day trip to Brazil with one bag (an old, discontinued bag from Outdoor products, from the era before they were bought out), weighing 10.5 lbs. The bag was a total steal as it was a thrift-store find for only $3 (USD). I wish I knew how many liters the bag is so that I can compare it to other bags.

The bag is great in a lot of ways: 1. It’s light. 2. It has a couple of pockets to help with organization. 3. It has Cordura-like material. 4. It has a clam-shell opening (a must for me). 5. Made in the USA.

Cons: 1. Since Outdoor Products was bought out, it’s unlikely that my bag is covered under warranty. And if it is, I’ll probably receive a Made in China bag if it needs to be replaced. 2. The zippers aren’t YKK or RiRi, and I can tell they’re about to go out.

Though the bag is excellent and is holding up well, it feels cramped at times.

I’m leaving on a trip to Cuba in a couple of weeks, and over the last couple of days, I’ve considered getting a new bag for the trip.

The only bag I’ve seriously considered is a GORUCK GR1. I owned one a few years ago, and it got me through most of my undergrad. I sold it for a more work-appropriate bag, and part of me regrets that decision.

Since I’m in the market for a new bag:

What do you use for one bagging? How large is your bag?

Thanks!
