Wallet recommendations for long term traveling: Card holder vs Slim Bi-fold?

The One Bag Traveler recommends Gear, Destinations and Adventures. I’ll preface this by saying I’d be paring either of these with a coin purse much like this one: https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/518u5KqjRzL._SX395_.jpg Debating on what to take for a long trip between this card holder: https://www.amazon.com/Corkor-Wallet-Minimalist-Friendly-Leather/dp/B00Y8FZ7CY and this slim bifold: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Vaultskin-Bifold-Wallet-Protection-Cards/dp/B01M182T6E . The weight difference is only 10

Debating on what to take for a long trip between this card holder: https://www.amazon.com/Corkor-Wallet-Minimalist-Friendly-Leather/dp/B00Y8FZ7CY and this slim bifold: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Vaultskin-Bifold-Wallet-Protection-Cards/dp/B01M182T6E . The weight difference is only 10 grams but obviously the bifold adds a bit more bulk/size.

So let’s say you’re traveling long term, 1 year even, would only a card holder suffice? For whatever reason I feel like if you were traveling around the world that a card holder just wouldn’t suffice in certain countries and you’d just end up with pockets full of cash/coins while you cards go unused. In the USA it’s pretty easy to carry very little cash and use a card everywhere but unless things have changed I don’t remember this being the case for many countries I’ve traveled to. Wondering if it would ever make sense to have both a card holder + wallet?

tl;dr; What’s the best type of wallet for long term traveling? Any recommendations? Thanks!
