As a one bag traveler, not a one bag all-the-timer, I am curious to ask those who are fully one bag – or are close to it – what do you do with sentimental items (old family photos, trinkets that have been passed down, other non-replaceable things, etc.) as well as “critical” items (paper records, medical equipment like joint braces, etc.)?

I know some of these things can be digitized using a scanner or Tinyscan-like phone app, but others – like let’s say a grandfather’s set of nice drinking glasses, a book that’s been passed down, a painting, etc. – can’t really be one-bagged.

So do you have a solution, like storing at a friend or family member’s house? Do you have a storage locker? Do you consider this not a violation of the one bag lifestyle? Do you just abandon them?
