Preparing For Travel Tips – Ensure Your Luggage Is Tagged and Easily Identified For Extra Security

By Oliver G Grasset

Each year nearly 26 million bags will go missing and be reported lost by unfortunate travellers. This enormous number does not include trains, buses, or any other form of travel. When you think about how many people take small trips, or large vacations each year, the percent of misplaced luggage may not seem that bad… unless of course the missing bag belongs to you.

Imagine arriving at your destination and getting to the baggage claim section of the airport. It was a long flight, and all you want to do is go home and relax. But your bag never appears so you have the stressful ordeal of hustling the baggage carriers trying to source your personal belongings.

Now, you have to wait in a long line just to find out if the airline has any clue where it might be. If you are lucky, they simply put it on the wrong flight. Of course, if the travel gods neglected to smile down on you, it could be gone forever.

Misidentification Prevention

The airlines, and other modes of transport, are not solely responsible for every lost bag. Many retailers are carrying the same luggage, at low prices. The likelihood that someone has the same bag as you do grows with each day. More and more travelers are mistaking similar looking bags, for the own. It is easy to pick up a bag and head home with it. When you get there, you realize that a mistake was made and you grabbed the wrong one. Sure, you may look good in the 1970’s leisure suit you found inside, but that is not the point. What if something very valuable was inside your bag and it went missing. Can you trust a random person to make sure that you got the item back?

There are many ways to personalize a bag, but none more practical than a colorful or unique luggage tag. This simple item will not only let anyone who finds your bag know who it belongs to, but it will also serve as a bright beacon, radiating its existence as the conveyor belt turns. You will be able to spot your bag as soon as it comes out of the sorting area.

Securing Peace of Mind

Each hold bag should have its own luggage tag, which will not only help you find the bag quickly in the sorting area, but also identify it, should it become misplaced. Every smart traveler knows this. Having one in the color or a unique design that you want will personalize your bag and protect it at the same time. It is amazing how one small item can prevent the hours of panic that could happen if someone else picked up your bag. This simple tip is something most travel insurers fail to point out to their customers. It won’t stop the airlines from losing your bag, but it is a start, and no matter what happens, it is sure to set your bag out from any others.

The ProudGuy customizable, practical and stylish silver luggage tags are now on sale from Amazon USA.
