Hello everyone! I hope I’m posting this in the right sub – I’m asking here because I don’t know whether there’s anything specific in fabrics that limits how well they can be taken in, altered, etc.

I’d like to get a pair of nice-looking “technical” pants, but I am unfortunately kind of small. Not sure what my inseam is, but I’m only a bit over 4’10” and have a ~25″ waist. Of course, these pants don’t normally start at that size…

I was wondering how much I could alter them (using a belt, safety pins, going to a tailor, etc.) so that I could actually wear them. Would it be possible? I don’t know whether tailoring can make pants can make something fit a waist 5+ inches smaller than it’s intended, or if these are even the kinds of pants that can be tailored due to different fabrics…

Any advice would be appreciated!
