Will be one bagging in SEA for 2 months in January and am starting to think about what to bring. I’d like some sneakers that will look decent for going out but that I’ll also be able to walk longer distances / hike, and bike in the heat. I like simple styles so I was thinking of Converse Chuck II’s, and noticed Nike recently released a flyknit version that supposedly breathe better than the canvas versions. Has anyone here bought these for travel? Any idea of similar shoes that would also fir the bill? I know there’s a bunch of running and hiking shoes out there but I like the classic look of the chucks, and they’re on sale for under $90 right now.

While I have this thread going, I’m also wondering about sandals. I have some Birkenstocks that I’ve broken in now and absolutely love, but they’re a bit bulky for my small pack. Same thing with my chacos. What have you guys had luck with as far as sandals go in SEA? I’d prefer something that I can walk around in a lot without fucking up my feet, but that are also relatively lightweight.
