I saw a post in r/campinggear about BulletPrufe denim pants. I cross posted it here and ordered myself a pair, as they looked good and come in multiple colors.
My current denim is ExOfficio Dylan jeans, great pants, but only one color, dark indigo. These Dylan jeans have the best front pockets I have ever had on any denim pants. Since I carry all my stuff in my front pockets, these became instant favorites of mine. They are a cotton poly blend with stretch.
The BulletPrufe (BP) were ordered in Slate Gray adventure cut (relaxed-ish?),the same size as my Dylans. I got the BP in today and eagerly tried them on, they were too small in the waist. If you order a pair, order the waist one size up… This means no drying tests or wear review yet, until I get a pair that fits my waist. The length was good, right at 34″ for the inseam.
Initial impression, nice jeans. The color of the slate gray looks very nice, and will fade per the website, but is a classy denim look. As much as you could dress up denim, these would do it. The fabric is a four way stretch and very pleasant on the skin. This is a heavier weight fabric, the Dylan’s are a lighter fabric than the BP.
The only downside I saw to these, in my personal view, was the front pockets are average. I made an Imgur album here to show the pocket differences. By no means does this mean the BP denim is not a good pair of pants, I just have a thing for giant front pockets. My intent is to return the 36W for a pair of 38W and wear them when I want gray denim. Overall, the construction is very well done, details are taken care of and the pants are great, except for the sizing not being the same as some other manufacturers sizing… .
TL; DR Got a pair BulletPrufe pants, they look good, just have to get the right size…
